Fresh Stems, Great Scent, and a Drink: Our NYC Collab Is Here

Fresh Stems, Great Scent, and a Drink: Our NYC Collab Is Here

Carli Lampley

Some things just make sense.

If you're looking for things to do in New York City this summer that are actually worth your Thursday night, a fragrance workshop, a floral experience, something you leave with more than a receipt, this one's for you. But I also want to tell you why we made it, because that part matters.

Plant Shed has been in our world for longer than most. They were one of the first accounts to put APOTHEKE candles on their shelves, and not just on any shelf. On the kind of shelf where people actually stop, pick things up, and ask questions. The kind of New York shop where a candle isn't an afterthought; it's part of the whole experience they've built. That matters to us.

So when we started thinking about what a real, meaningful and beautiful collab could look like,  not a co-branded email blast, not a promo code, something real;  Plant Shed was a dream!

The Best Perfume Making Class NYC Has to Offer This Summer

Here's what I keep coming back to: the best way to understand a fragrance is to experience it in context.

Think about the last time a scent stopped you in your tracks. Chances are, it wasn't because you spritzed something on a paper strip in a store. It was a moment , a combination of things. Something in the air, something in the room, something in your hands. Fragrance lives alongside texture, temperature, color, and sensation.

Fresh flowers are, hands down, the most natural companion to scent-making I can think of. The process of blending a perfume oil and building a bouquet aren't just thematically connected, they are perfect counterparts. Both ask you to slow down, make choices, follow your instincts, and trust your nose.

What to Expect at the Plant Shed x APOTHEKE Workshop in New York

Starting this July, we're running a recurring perfume oil and bouquet class together, every Thursday evening at Plant Shed in New York City. Two sessions to start - 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM - so you can pick what works for your schedule.

Here's how it goes:

  • Choose a beverage at their incredible cafe to bring to your seat
  • Blend your own perfume oil from scratch using APOTHEKE's signature fragrance ingredients
  • Grab a seasonal bouquet made by their florists.
  • Leave with both, no kits to finish at home, no waiting for a box to arrive

And because we want attending class to feel like a gift that keeps giving: everyone who books a session gets 15% off APOTHEKE purchases the same day. Because if you just spent an hour discovering exactly what you love in a fragrance, you should be able to shop like it.

Classes run every Thursday in July and August. Spots are intentionally small.  This is an intimate experience, not a crowd.
