The Art Of Handmade Soap
When i was stressed out from working long hours as a personal assistant, I found love in a new hobby: soap making. Flash forward 9 years, two kids, and a whole factory, and we still craft every bar soap by hand, just for you.
It all starts with fragrance...
Charcoal is our best selling scent and the very first bar soap I ever made. It has incredible clarifying properties, and when mixed with our signature oil blend it works perfectly to keep your skin vibrant and moisturized. The sexy jet black color is also a fave in our interior design circle. Who doesn't love a statement piece?
Meet Denny, our soap making expert.
After choosing our fragrance, we heat and mix our oils. We use coconut oil with its saponifying counterpart: olive oil. We follow that up with some carefully picked botanicals and extracts. In this case, it's our Charcoal Powder and signature fragrance for that gorgeous smoky scent.
Then, of course, we just mix - mix - mix! Until it reaches that perfect, luscious consistency.
Poured into simple molds and cut by hand...
We spent a lot of time finding the right size to fit perfectly in your palm for that all over scrub. Our custom molds are set up and the mixture is poured in carefully (and evenly). Once it cools and hardens we pop it out and cut it up into our signature shape.
Any extra is crafted into single use pieces and donated to the Bowery Mission. So with every bar you buy, you're helping some one on the streets of New York get a warm shower.
The stamp of approval.
Once the soap has cured and sat for a couple weeks, we stamp it, seal it, package it up, and ship it off so you can stay fresh, keep clean, and elevate your everyday.
